Greenstone Icelandic Sheepdog Litters 2008

Hello Folks

The first Planned litter for late 2007/early 2008 is Ch Belglen Runa of Greenstone bred by Pineridge Vaskur.

Ch Belglen Runa of Greenstone (First Female CKC Champion in Canada, her littermate Brother is also a CKC Champion, Ch Belglen Riddari, and her other littermate Sister Belglen Risna is also CKC Pointed, which is wonderful considering she lives in Calf, USA)

Ch Belglen Runa of Greenstone's littermate Brother Ch Belglen Riddari took the Canadian Icelandic Sheepdog's first national Club booster's Best of Breed in Calgary, Alberta in Aug of 2007.

This Belglen litter is in the Canadian History books for having the most CKC Champions to date.

Runa has CERF Normal, and Clean Hips, OFA-Good

Runa is a short Coated, Chinchilla with double dewclaws.

Runa carries Black Tri.

"Light sable, excellent type and proportions, a bit refined and very feminine. 42 cm (double check). Good proportions in head, good stop. Nice triangular shape. Good ear placement and size. A little bit round in eye. Would like more filling under cheeks. Would like slightly darker eye color. Excellent pigment. Missing a P1 on right upper side, correct bite. Slightly upright in shoulder. Good underarm. Would like more depth of chest and more forechest. Good back. Slightly long in loin, good croup. Good angulation in back, good hock. Toes out slightly in back. Double dewclaws on right. Single with two nails on left. Good bone for size. Excellent tail with slight hook. Excellent coat structure but could be a little longer. Good undercoat for this time of year. Excellent temperament, friendly expression. Nice Icelandic smile. Excellent mover."

PineridgeIcelandic Vaskur, (Father to Ch Greenstone AJay, Top Icelandic in Canada 2006, Father to Greenstone Black Pearl, First Female to place in Group and get Best Puppy in Group in Canadian History).

Pineridge Vaskur is a Long Hair Black Silver Tri with Double dewclaws. Vaskur has CERF normal, Clean Hips and Certified Heart.

"Excellent type, black tri long hair. Slightly under ideal size 45 cm. Excellent head and eyes. Good proportions in head. Full dentition, correct bite. Good ear carriage and size. Excellent pigment. Slightly upright shoulder. Good upper arm. Would like more depth of chest. Slightly out in elbows because of lack of chest. Acceptable forechest. Good neck. Excellent angulation front and back. Double dewclaws. Excellent tail with hook. Excellent bone. Turns out slightly in back. Excellent front dewclaws. Good straight front. Excellent undercoat. Would like a little thicker overcoat. Excellent ruff and tail and pants. Could be slightly coarser. Moves a little close behind. Excellent mover with good drive. Good temperament but could be more settled around other males."

We are expecting, Short and Long Coated Chincilla's and Black Silver Tri's.

We are expecting this to be a Top show/Breeding litter. You have a wonderful history of clean hips going back four generations on both sides of the pedigree, with only one great-grandmother having Mild.

You have three generations of CERF Normal eye exams on this pedigree.

You have Multiply Generations of Icelandic Champions, and now Canadian Champions..

If you are looking for a good herding puppy, this is a great litter to look at, Runa and her family line are very good at herding, and Vaskur has produced very good herding puppies.


If you are looking for a good Agility puppy, then this is a great litter to look at, Runa and Vaskur have both done very well in Agility themselves and with such a good work ethic and clean hips, we would expect that this litter would produce great agility dogs on the smaller side for females as well.


If you are looking for a Canadian Show Puppy, then this is the litter to look at.. What a combo.. Runa and her littermates have rocked the show world, and Vaskur's offspring with multiply females have gone on to be Canadian Champions and are to date the only Icelandic Sheepdogs that have earned Multiply Group placements, and Best Puppy in Herding Group.


I will admit to be very excited, for the first time I have it all.. Good hips, Clean eyes, Good hearts, Two Show lines, Like to Like breeding and I am as always thrilled to be breeding for the rare Black tri, and in this case, even rarer, the Black Silver Tri!

Planned Spring Litter Folda CGN, HI, TPOC by Töfra Hrói Grettir.

This is a very interesting litter, This is a M1/O linebreeding with P family in the background. Inbreeding Co 3.3% on five generations.

We are very excited about this litter for alot of reasons, one expecting wonderful DEEP Bright RED offspring in both Med and Long coat.

"Red and white female. Excellent type and proportions. Slightly under ideal size, 41.5 cm. Beautiful head. Correct ear placement and size. Beautiful dark almond eyes. Good pigmentation. Missing P3 and a P1 on right upper side. Good proportions in head, nice triangular shape. Good shoulder, good upperarm, good forechesst. Nice wide front. Would like a little deeper chest. Good strong back, good croup. Excellent angulation in back, good hock. Excellent tail with a good hook. Good coat structure. Good undercoat for time of year. Nice ruff. Double dewclaws. Excellent bone. Toes out slightly at back. Good movement from side. A little close behind. Turns front feet out slightly when moving. Stands a bit wide in back. Excellent skirt. Excellent temperament with smiling expression. "

Here is Tofra Hroi Grettir

"Excellent deep rich red masculine male on the smaller side 43.5 cm. Excellent proportions. Correct proportions in head. Nice strong skull, triangular shaped head. Wonderful short muzzle. Missing P1 bottom left and right. Correct bite. A little exaggerated smile. Good ear placement and size. Correct eye shape and color, good dark eye. Excellent front. Strong Neck Well laid back shoulder. Good chest, good body. Could use a little more substance but acceptable. Deep enough chest, comes just below elbow. Slightly weak in pastern. Strong back. Good rear angulation. Slightly toed out in rear. Good double dewclaws. Flat croup. Good tail set. Nice curl to tail. Excellent bone. Excellent coat texture, quite good undercoat for this time of year. Good movement. When he’s moving he looks slightly higher in back because pasterns are weak. Excellent temperament, friendly demeanor but a little stressed. "

Folda is Due in heat in June and puppies are expected in Aug, ready for the fall..
